Monkey Bird

Some friends and me took our own senior trip and went backpacking at Henry Coe. We spent four days submerged in the wilderness and had a blast. We camped next to Kelly Lake, the one closest to a clean water supply, and even got to swim a little. We had two full days of exploring.

The second day we explored up to one of the highest peaks around and were rewarded with a beautiful sight

The third day were ventured around and found many old remnants of ranches

Our adventure was filled with many great climbing trees and animals. We saw many huge ant colonies, beetles, deer, fish, fireflys (very cool), and many birds(hawks+turkey vultures). In the morning were would be greeted by many of these birds who would fly over us and call out. My favorite bird was one i never saw but could hear from the reeds in Kelly Lake. We called this bird a "monkey bird" because it made monkey like noises.
